Leading a Better Chicago Launches to Tackle City’s Toughest Challenges
We’re proud to share that Politico Illinois Playbook featured the launch of Leading a Better Chicago, a new civic organization founded by attorney and civic leader Bill Quinlan.
Our mission is simple but urgent: take on the big challenges facing Chicago—shaky finances, public safety, education, housing, and transit—with a structured, data-driven approach. We’ll analyze issues, identify the most practical solutions, and bring those ideas directly to neighborhoods and City Hall.
As Politico notes, this is about more than talk. We’ll be publishing reports, engaging communities, and advocating for City Hall to act on solutions that improve everyday life for working families.
Bill Quinlan brings deep experience to this effort. He’s represented major institutions, served in government, and led nonprofit work with organizations like Lawrence Hall, which supports children who’ve faced trauma. That mix of civic, legal, and community leadership shapes our belief that Chicago can do better—and must.
We’re grateful for early support from partners like Tusk Philanthropies, who recognize that Chicago’s challenges are shared by cities across the country and require bold, practical leadership.
This is just the beginning. Stay tuned as we release our first reports and invite community voices into the conversation about how to lead a better Chicago.
