October 7 Panel: Federal and Local Law Enforcement Partnerships — What Works and What Doesn’t

As Chicago faces unprecedented budget challenges, we need to have a conversation on how we can keep our neighborhoods safe despite these financial constraints.

On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Erie Café, Leading a Better Chicago is hosting a timely panel discussion:

Federal and Local Law Enforcement Partnerships: What Works and What Doesn’t

  • Bill Quinlan – Moderator; Attorney, Civic Leader, Lifelong Chicagoan, and Founder of Leading a Better Chicago
  • Major General Richard J. Hayes, Jr. (Ret.) – Illinois National Guard
  • Chief Ken Corey – Retired Chief of Department, NYPD; Senior Fellow, University of Chicago Crime Lab
  • Chief Brendan Deenihan – Retired Chief of Detectives, Chicago Police Department

This panel will dig into what has worked—and what hasn’t—in building partnerships between local police, the FBI, ATF, National Guard, and other federal agencies. The conversation will highlight real solutions that can make Chicago safer while also strengthening fiscal stability.
